On 21 March 2025, our colleague Ing. Pavel Kalina took part in the Day with Water event organized at the Techmania Science Center in Pilsen on the occasion of the International Water Day.
As part of a program focused on the importance and protection of water, he gave a lecture entitled "Unique Mineral Springs in West Bohemia", which focused on:
the formation of mineral springs and the geological processes that lead to it,
the functioning of springs and their chemical composition,
historical and contemporary use of mineral springs,
the Spa Research Centre project, which is dedicated to the research and protection of spa resources.
The programme also included a tasting of several mineral springs available on the market, which helped the pupils to better understand the differences between the different sources.
The lecture had a positive response from pupils and teachers, not only thanks to its engaging form, but also thanks to practical demonstrations and audience participation. The discussion after the lecture confirmed the interest not only in the spa industry, but also in ecology and the protection of natural resources.
