Manuals of spa therapeutic and rehabilitation care

The series of manuals on spa and rehabilitation care was commissioned by the Karlovy Vary Business Development Agency with the support of the Smart Accelerator 2.0 programme. The aim of the manuals is to help health care professionals (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists) in providing health care for patients treated in spas.

1. Manual of spa therapeutic and rehabilitation care. Methodology of administering balneotherapy procedures I. - this volume is intended primarily for spa care providers - doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and masseurs. However, other physicians and students of medical disciplines interested in performing medical procedures will also find information in it.
2. Manual of Spa Therapeutic and Rehabilitation Care Methodology of Balneotherapy Procedures II - the second part of the Manual of Methodology of Balneotherapy Procedures is focused on the part of physiotherapy that deals with scientifically based therapeutic application of various types of energy on the human body.
3. Manual of spa therapeutic-rehabilitation care Methodology of balneotherapy procedures III - this volume is devoted to treatment in the form of hydrotherapy, thermotherapy and mechanotherapy.
4. Manual of spa therapeutic and rehabilitation care. Balneo-operations and its specifics - this manual is another of the manuals that aim to help mainly health care workers - doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and spa in providing health care for patients treated in our spas. It draws attention to the most important legal regulations in this area, including the rights and obligations of patients and healthcare workers, describes the optimal organisation of balneotherapy, and specifies the minimum staffing and equipment requirements for balneotherapy. Finally, it focuses on the economics of balneotherapy, cost items and profitability.
5. Manual of spa therapeutic and rehabilitation care. General principles and special approaches according to indications - the presented Manual of spa therapeutic-rehabilitation care, general principles and special approaches according to indications, is intended primarily for general practitioners prescribing complex or contributory spa treatment for patients on the basis of recommendations of relevant specialists determined according to diagnoses. However, it will certainly also find application among other physicians, medical students, physiotherapists and persons otherwise interested in spa medicine.
6. Management of natural medicinal resources - ZPMV, gases and peloids - the aim of this manual is the sustainable use of natural medicinal resources and natural mineral water resources defined by Act No.164/2001 Coll.
7. Communication between spa doctor and patient. Lessons from practice - this handbook offers a practical approach to doctor-patient communication, as their relationship fundamentally influences the success of spa treatment. A patient undergoing complex spa treatment in a spa facility comes into contact with medical staff (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, nutritional therapists, spa therapists, auxiliary medical staff) and service staff (waiters, waitresses, maids, cleaners, etc.).
