Educational activities
One of the problems of today's spa industry is the lack of professionals, so we also focus on educational activities. We are trying to contribute to building a branch of a university or an independent university with a focus on physical medicine, rehabilitation and balneology in the Karlovy Vary Region.

The Institute of Spa and Balneology is a scientific institution that focuses on independent basic and applied research in the field of spa and balneology. One of our main objectives is to disseminate knowledge through educational and training activities in the fields of balneology, spa, natural medicinal resources and socio-economic sciences and other related fields.
Within the framework of our strategic project, the Spa Research Centre, we focus on the training of personnel in the field of spa and balneology. The development of their professional skills is key for us as it contributes to increasing the interest and motivation of workers in the sector.
Why?
Education is a fundamental pillar of any society and a key factor for cultural and economic progress. At a time when new technologies are rapidly displacing older ones, it is important to keep up with the current demands of the labour market. The constant development of modern society is significantly changing the requirements for new skills and qualifications of the workforce, not only in the spa sector. With this comes new challenges and ethical dilemmas. The dynamics of these changes create an increasing need for continuous learning, which emphasises the importance of continuing vocational and extra-curricular training. We therefore focus on providing quality educational programmes that reflect the needs of contemporary society.
What?
The need for continuing education is crucial to ensure better quality and more sustainable spa and rehabilitation care, economic development, innovation, improved protection of natural medicinal resources and ensuring the competitiveness of the spa industry as a field. The aim is to create systemic mechanisms and environments for continuing education at all levels of education in the Czech Republic. Participants in continuing education will be able to more easily broaden and deepen their competences, and will be able to better orient themselves in the educational offer in the relevant balneology fields so that they acquire the necessary knowledge and skills on the basis of quality educational programmes based on the current labour market requirements.
