On Wednesday, 16 April 2024, we hosted a round table with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Regional Chamber of Commerce of the Karlovy Vary Region. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Jiří Kozák and together we discussed the possibilities of how scientific diplomacy can contribute to the development of the spa industry and the region.

Our director Alina Huseynli presented the activities of the strategic project Spa Research Centre. We opened topics with an international overlap - for example, healthy ageing - and showed how traditional spa industry can be effectively combined with modern technologies of Czech companies.

The discussion also focused on specific tools of economic and scientific diplomacy offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - especially the PROPED programme and its use in the international presentation of the Czech spa industry.

The meeting took place the day after the Modern Technologies in Spa 3.0 conference, allowing us to share fresh impressions and discuss current challenges.

We are pleased to have been able to provide a space for constructive discussion on the future direction of the spa industry. We thank all participants for the open dialogue.
