We are preparing an expert conference dedicated to the legacy of Marie Curie-Skłodowska, which will focus on important scientific topics related to radon treatment, the history of Jáchymov and current challenges in the field of public health.
The conference was granted patronage by the Governor of the Karlovy Vary Region , Mgr. Jana Mračková Vildumetzová , and the Mayor of the City of Karlovy Vary , Ing. Andrea Pfeffer Ferklová, MBA .
Date: 12 June 2025
Place: Hotel Běhounek, Jáchymov
The expert programme will include, among other things, lectures on the following topics:
- History and significance of Marie Curie-Skłodowska's visit to Jáchymov in 1925
- Radon: past, present and future
- Clinical applications of radon treatment: successes and challenges
- Radon in public health: challenges and solutions
The conference will bring together experts from the fields of science, medicine and public health and will offer a space for sharing knowledge and experience.
