On 25 April 2025, we attended the 24th International Conference History of Buildings 2025, organised by the National Technical Museum. The event took place in the premises of the Centre of Building Heritage of the National Museum of Technical Museum in Plasy.

The Institute of Spa and Balneology was represented by Mgr. Karel Kůt and Mgr. Lubomír Zeman, who presented a joint paper entitled "Transformation of the architecture of Spa Kynžvart as a result of repeated fires in the town". The paper focused on the repeated fires that have significantly influenced the development of the town of Lázně Kynžvart in its history - in particular, a pair of large fires in 1865. These events led to changes in the urban layout and architecture of the town. The research was based not only on historical written sources, but also on building history surveys of individual buildings and an analysis of the overall urban structure.

The presented paper was written as a partial output of the Spa Research Centre project.
