On Tuesday 17 June, the second internal workshop focused on the socio-economic part of the Spa Research Centre project took place at the Institute of Spa and Balneology in Karlovy Vary. The meeting was held both in person and online and was intended primarily for the participating experts from ILaB and the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen.
The programme was opened by the Director of ILaB. The introductory part was devoted to information about the current progress of the project, planned activities and possibilities of engaging the professional public, for example through KAFE & VĚDA presentations for the general public or publication outputs.
The morning session offered open presentations on the results to date and plans for the socio-economic part of the research. There were presentations on the thematic focus of the research, selected outputs and student work. The afternoon session focused on a more detailed discussion of the processing procedure in further research topics, data handling, planning of further activities and involvement of an expert group from the academic environment.
The workshop brought a valuable exchange of information and strengthened the cooperation between partners involved in researching socio-economic aspects of the spa industry in the Karlovy Vary Region.
