On Monday 28 April we welcomed a group of ten students from the Bachelor's programme International Tourism Management / Health & Medical Tourism from the University of Applied Sciences in Deggendorf, Bavaria. The program is designed for international students, and because of this we had people from eight different countries visit us.

The visit to Karlovy Vary was part of the practical part of their lessons focused on exploring European spa towns. We introduced them to the activities of our Institute and the Spa Research Centre project. We shared with them examples of research activities in the field of balneology and explained how scientific work is translated into everyday practice in the spa industry.

We were genuinely pleased to see their active interest - not only in the spa industry as a branch of tourism, but also in its research and educational opportunities. The discussion also touched on the topics of science funding and international mobility programmes.

Thank you for a nice and inspiring visit. We are pleased that the spa industry appeals to young people from different parts of the world and that they see it as a promising part of their professional future.
