Within the framework of the knowledge and technology transfer of the Spa Research Centre project, we organised an expert workshop focused on environmental aspects of the spa industry - especially on the protection and sustainable use of natural medicinal resources and the spa environment. The event was addressed to representatives of spa towns of the Karlovy Vary Region.

RNDr. Tomáš Vylita, Ph.D., presented natural healing resources including mineral waters and natural background of spa places. Ing. Jana Walterová, Ph.D., discussed the phenomenon of Spa Therapeutic Landscape (LTK) and Mgr. Martin Šikola raised the question of how therapeutic landscapes can arise outside traditional spa areas.

The conclusion was a summary by Mgr. Stanislav Kříž, who presented the results of the research so far and outlined the possibilities of further cooperation with spa towns.

We thank all participants for their active participation and inspiring discussions.
