On Monday 14 April 2025, we welcomed a foreign delegation from several European institutions in the field of spa, health and tourism at the Institute of Spa and Balneology. Among the guests were Csilla Mezösi, Secretary General of the European Spa Association (ESPA), Professor Todorka Kostadinova from the Medical University of Varna and Ivana Kolar, an expert in strategic management and development in the field of tourism.
The main topic of the meeting was the possibility of submitting joint European projects in the field of research and innovation in the spa industry. Our Director Alina Huseynli, who coordinates research activities within ESPA, presented the vision of future cooperation and concrete examples of activities of the Institute of Spa and Balneology.
The discussion focused on the current needs of the spa sector in the European context and the role of research institutions in finding new solutions for health, prevention and sustainable development.
After the meeting we offered our guests a guided tour of Karlovy Vary, which introduced them to the historical and contemporary significance of the city as an important European spa centre.
We are pleased to have been able to provide a venue for a professional meeting that opens the way for deeper international cooperation. We believe that joint European projects can contribute significantly to the further development of balneological research.
