The conference attracted a number of experts, researchers, representatives of spa facilities and university students. The event focused on presenting the latest trends and innovations in the field of spa and balneology, such as virtual reality, digitalization, telemedicine, modern health applications.

In her opening speech, the Mayor of Karlovy Vary Ing. Andrea Pfeffer Ferklová, MBA, the importance of the connection between traditional spa and modern technologies. It is essential that the spa industry evolves and adapts to current needs, which is, among other things, the introduction of the latest technologies and research findings into spa practice.

Conference participants were introduced to new research and development results in the field of modern technologies and their applications in spa and balneology, which have the potential to improve the quality of care and efficiency of spa services. Participants had the opportunity to establish new contacts, exchange experiences and discuss current challenges and opportunities. Discussions focused on case studies and practical applications of new technologies in spa and balneology, such as the use of laser therapy in the treatment of patients with post-covid syndrome or the potential of telerehabilitation technology for stability and cognitive therapy.

The organizers offered the opportunity for students of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of CTU to present their research projects and bachelor theses. This was the first time they had the opportunity to present at a scientific conference to get feedback from experienced experts.

The success of the conference "Modern Technologies in Spa Industry" shows the growing interest in innovations and research in the field of spa and balneology. This trend contributes to the consolidation and strengthening of the role of the Czech Republic, especially the Karlovy Vary Region, as a centre of excellence in this field.
