This year we have decided to extend the successful campaign of the Karlovy Vary Infocentre with a research study focused on the effects of traditional Karlovy Vary drinking therapy.
The treatment programme under review lasts 3 weeks and is based on a drinking cure using warm Karlovy Vary springs, which are prescribed by a balneologist during the initial examination based on an assessment of the volunteer's health condition.
Last year, 50 people took part in the research, of whom 20 men and 30 women were closely monitored. An interesting finding was that 72% of the participants suffered from hepatic steatosis, with 26% diagnosed with severe stage 3 of the disease. After a three-week drinking cure, large positive changes in the monitored parameters were noted.
This year we are going even further and plan to screen another 100 candidates! As part of the study, you will have the opportunity to undergo free Fibroscan liver elastography and laboratory tests.
