In 2025, we became part of the Night of the Scientistsone of Europe's largest popularisation events. Together with the Charles University, the Karlovy Vary Museum and the Regional Innovation Centre of the Karlovy Vary Region (KIC KK), we were at the birth of the so-called Karlovy Vary Nest, thanks to which our region will participate in future editions.

On Friday, 26 September 2025, we prepared a panel discussion "Natural Resources of the Karlovy Vary Region and Their Rich Use", moderated by RNDr. Václav Cílek, CSc. The discussants were Ing. Tereza Hnátková, Ph.D., MUDr. Ladislav Špišák, CSc., and Ing. Petr Krása. The program continued with a guided walk "Karlovy Vary Mineral Springs" with RNDr. Tomáš Vylita, Ph.D., which started at Elizabeth Baths and ended at the museum. Although the weather was not favourable, dozens of visitors came to the route - an encouraging result for the first year in our region.

We also welcomed colleagues from the Czech University of Agriculture, who presented the transformation project Smart Landscape 2030+. The event showed that collaboration across projects does not have to be limited to research alone, but is also of great importance for the popularisation and communication of science.

In the future, we hope that other institutions and towns will join the programme and together we will take this popularization event in our region one step further.

The patronage for the Night of Scientists 2025 in the Karlovy Vary Region was granted by the Governor of the Karlovy Vary Region Mgr. No.: CZ.10.01.01/00/22_001/0000261.
