On 14th March 2025, we took part in the annual meeting of the Slavkovský les supporters, which took place at the Administration of the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area in Mariánské Lázně.
The Institute of Spa and Balneology, v. v. i., in cooperation with the National Heritage Institute, ÚOP in Loket, presented a paper on "Rescuing the memory of Antonia Pascalina - a detective story and historical facts".
The lecturers were Mgr. Karel Kůt from the Institute of Spa and Balneology, v. v. i. and Mgr. Lubomír Zeman from the National Heritage Institute, ÚOP in Loket, who presented the results of research within the framework of the Spa Research Centre project.
The presentation focused on the restoration of the memorial cross in the Kynžvart castle park associated with Countess Antonia Pascalina Wallenstein Wartenberg, née Princess Metternich-Winneburg (1862-1890). An interesting part of the paper was also a detailed analysis of the circumstances of the Countess's death, which refuted earlier misinterpretations.
