Economist / Financial Manager
We are looking for a self-sufficient professional to join the team of a public research institution, who will manage the internal economic agenda, coordinate cooperation with an external accounting firm, and provide management with reliable data for financial decision-making.
The Institute of Spa and Balneology focuses on science, research and innovation in spa medicine, balneology and related fields. It carries out research projects funded from national and European sources.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating the external accounting firm, checking accounting outputs and the completeness of supporting documents.
- Preparing and continuously evaluating the institution's budget, monitoring costs, revenues and cash flow.
- Financial control of research projects, budget drawdown and eligibility of project expenditures.
- Preparing economic analyses and reporting for management, the Supervisory Board and funding providers.
- Coordinating financial statements, inventories, audits and inspections.
- Setting up and updating internal economic processes and control mechanisms.
Requirements
- University degree in economics.
- Experience in financial management, controlling, accounting or budgeting.
- Very good knowledge of accounting and tax regulations and the ability to review accounting outputs.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, analytical thinking, independence and responsibility.
- Experience in a publicly funded organization and with European grant projects is an advantage.
