22nd Congress of the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies

The 22nd Congress of the ASEAN Federation of Endocrine Societies was held in Bangkok on 16–19 November 2023 (AFES 2023).

The congress takes place once every two years in various Asian metropolises.

This year, the Institute of Spa and Balneology, together with the University Hospital Plzeň, was invited to present research on the determination of vitamin D in our population and its blood levels in oncological and infectious diseases, with a focus on COVID-19 and its further prognosis.

The results of this research were presented by the Chairman of the Council of the Institute of Spa and Balneology, v. v. i., prim. MUDr. Ladislav Špišák, CSc. The lively discussion that followed was proof of the topicality of this issue.

We are proud to have the opportunity to present our results at such a prestigious forum, and we greatly value our cooperation with the University Hospital Plzeň on research projects. This exemplary collaboration represents a significant contribution to the development of medical and spa research, and we expect it to bring further positive results and opportunities for future projects.
