This year, we have decided to further expand the successful campaign of the Karlovy Vary Infocentre with a research study focused on the effects of the traditional Karlovy Vary drinking cure.

The evaluated treatment programme lasts 3 weeks, and its basis is a drinking cure using the warm Karlovy Vary springs, which are prescribed by a balneologist during the initial examination based on an assessment of the volunteer's health condition.

Last year, 50 people took part in the research, of whom 20 men and 30 women underwent careful monitoring. An interesting finding was that 72% of participants suffered from hepatic steatosis, with 26% diagnosed with severe, third-degree disease. After the three-week drinking cure, significant positive changes were recorded in the monitored parameters.

This year, we are going even further and plan to examine another 100 interested participants! As part of the study, you will have the opportunity to undergo a free liver elastography examination using the Fibroscan method, as well as laboratory tests. Not only will you contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge, but you will also gain valuable information about your own health condition.
