Marking World Obesity Day

Připomínáme si Světový den obezity
Share

On 4 March, we mark World Obesity Day. Obesity currently represents one of the major health challenges facing modern society. Spa treatment can also play a significant role in the management of obesity. In children and adolescents, it is even included in the official list of indications.

Access to spa treatment for obese clients in the Czech Republic differs fundamentally depending on the patient's age. For children and adolescents, comprehensive spa treatment is covered by health insurance if obesity is associated with other risk factors.

For adult patients, the situation is different. Adult clients can make use of specialized weight-reduction stays as self-paying clients, or they may have their spa treatment covered under other diagnoses that often accompany obesity, such as diabetes or musculoskeletal disorders.

However, the goal of modern spa treatment is not merely short-term weight loss. It is primarily about providing a safe springboard toward long-term, sustainable health through proper education, balanced nutrition and controlled physical activity.
