Participation in the Czech–Israeli Chamber of Commerce trade mission

From 18.06 to 21.06.2023, researcher and Chairman of the Council of the Institute of Spa and Balneology, v. v. i., MUDr. Ladislav Špišák, CSc., took part in a trade mission of the Czech–Israeli Chamber of Commerce in Tel Aviv. He attended the mission together with representatives of the Czech Parliament, led by Chairwoman M. Pekarová, and twenty Czech entrepreneurs from the Czech Republic.

Valuable contacts were established with Israeli research institutions, with which cooperation on joint projects will be possible in the near future. As part of the mission, participants were introduced to upcoming calls suitable for Czech–Israeli cooperation.

Specifically, these include:

• The DELTA 2 calls – a programme run by the TA ČR (Technology Agency of the Czech Republic) and the Israel Innovation Authority,
• 
  
• The V4 Innovators in Israel programme – intensive workshops for start-ups, run by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and CzechInvest,
• 
  
• The Inter–Action call (INTER-EXCELLENCE programme of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic and the Israeli Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology) with the topics Health and Medicine and Data Science (AI applications in environmental protection and energy).
• 
  
• The EIT Hub Israel project – "Calling to Scale" – for late-stage start-ups in the fields of Health, Renewable Energy, and Climate – Plastic and Fuel Substitutes.

Negotiations were held with representatives of research institutes near the Dead Sea, who expressed interest in participating in the International Balneological Congress in Karlovy Vary and in research cooperation.

The presentation of the Institute of Spa and Balneology at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tel Aviv, attended by all participants, was also highly beneficial.

Meetings with Israeli business partners took place on 19.6. and 20.6.2023.
