We are pleased to announce that we have published the fourth issue of our journal "Lázeňství a balneologie, Spa and Balneology" - http://i-lab.cz/odborny-casopis/

As has become tradition, this issue includes scholarly articles, presentations of spas in the Czech Republic and around the world, discussion contributions, our activities, and conference reports.

The scholarly articles focus on the treatment of female infertility in Františkovy Lázně, on the diagnosis and spa treatment of type 2 diabetes, and on the relationship between changes in the internal environment and the function of the musculoskeletal system, manual diagnostics and treatment options, including evidence of the effect of balneotherapy through a set of kinesiological examinations. In the historical-cultural field, attention is paid to the historical significance of forest toilets in the spa therapeutic landscape of Karlovy Vary.

In this issue, the therapeutic spa Bohdaneč is presented from the Czech spas, and Bad Elster from abroad. Among the discussion contributions, following on from the article on balneopsychotherapy in the previous, third issue of this journal, there is a contribution devoted to aromatherapy as part of spa care.

Furthermore, the tradition of conferences with reference to Vincenz Priessnitz is discussed here.
