Workshop: Spa Towns of the Future

As part of the knowledge and technology transfer activities of the Spa Research Centre project, we held a professional workshop focused on the environmental aspects of spa medicine – primarily on the protection and sustainable use of natural healing resources and the spa environment. The event was intended for representatives of spa towns in the Karlovy Vary Region.
RNDr. Tomáš Vylita, Ph.D., presented natural healing resources, including mineral waters and the natural setting of spa locations. Ing. Jana Walterová, Ph.D., addressed the phenomenon of the Spa Therapeutic Landscape (LTK), and Mgr. Martin Šikola raised the question of how a therapeutic landscape can also emerge outside traditional spa areas.
The closing summary was given by Mgr. Stanislav Kříž, who presented the research results achieved so far and outlined possibilities for further cooperation with spa towns.
We thank all participants for their active involvement and inspiring discussion.
