Foreign delegation from European organisations visits ILaB

On Monday, 14 April 2025the Institute of Spa and Balneology welcomed a foreign delegation from several European institutions active in the fields of spa medicine, healthcare and tourism. Among the guests were, among others, Csilla Mezösi, Secretary General of the European Spas Association (ESPA), Professor Todorka Kostadinova from the Medical University of Varna and Ivana Kolar, an expert in strategic management and development in the field of tourism.
The main topic of the meeting was opportunities for submitting joint European projects in the field of research and innovation in spa medicine. Our director Alina Huseynli, who coordinates research activities within ESPA, presented a vision for future cooperation as well as concrete examples of the Institute of Spa and Balneology's activities.
The discussion focused on the current needs of the spa sector in the European context and the role of research institutions in seeking new solutions for health, prevention and sustainable development.
After the meeting, we offered our guests a guided tour of Karlovy Vary, which introduced them to the historical and present-day significance of the town as a major European spa centre.
We are pleased to have provided a venue for this professional meeting, which opens the way to deeper international cooperation. We believe that joint European projects can make a significant contribution to the further development of balneological research.
