On Wednesday, April 16, 2024, we hosted a round table at our Institute with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Regional Chamber of Commerce of the Karlovy Vary Region. The meeting was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jiří Kozák and together we explored how scientific diplomacy can contribute to the development of the spa sector and the region as a whole.

Our director, Alina Huseynli, presented the activities of the strategic project Spa Research Centre. We opened up topics with international relevance – such as healthy ageing – and demonstrated how traditional spa medicine can be effectively combined with modern technologies developed by Czech companies.

The discussion also focused on specific tools of economic and scientific diplomacy offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – in particular the PROPED programme and its use in presenting Czech spa medicine internationally.

The meeting took place the day after the conference Modern Technologies in Spa Medicine 3.0, which allowed us to share fresh impressions and discuss current challenges.

We are pleased to have provided a space for constructive discussion on the future direction of spa medicine. We thank all participants for the open dialogue.
