International students from Deggendorf visited the Institute of Spa and Balneology

On Monday, April 28, we welcomed a group of ten students from the bachelor's program in International Tourism Management / Health & Medical Tourism at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology in Bavaria. The program is designed for international students, which is why we were visited by people from eight different countries.

The visit to Karlovy Vary was part of the practical component of their studies focused on exploring European spa towns. We introduced them to the activities of our Institute as well as the Centre for Spa Research project. We shared examples of our research activities in the field of balneology and explained how scientific work translates into everyday practice in the spa sector.

We were genuinely pleased by their active interest – not only in the spa sector as a branch of tourism, but also in its research and educational opportunities. The discussion also touched on topics such as science funding and international mobility programs.
