Participation in the Dějiny staveb 2025 Conference

On April 25, 2025, we took part in the 24th annual international conference Dějiny staveb 2025, organized by the National Technical Museum. The event took place at the premises of the Centre for Building Heritage of the NTM in Plasy.

The Institute of Spa and Balneology was represented by Mgr. Karel Kůt and Mgr. Lubomír Zeman, who delivered a joint paper entitled “Transformation of the Architecture of Lázně Kynžvart as a Result of Recurring Town Fires”. The paper addressed the recurring fires that significantly influenced the development of the town of Lázně Kynžvart throughout its history – particularly the two large fires of 1865. These events led to changes in the town's urban layout and architecture. The research drew not only on historical written sources but also on architectural-historical surveys of individual buildings and an analysis of the overall urban structure.

The presented paper was produced as a partial output of the Spa Research Centre project.
