Foreign delegation visit from the Institut du Thermalisme, Université de Bordeaux in Karlovy Vary

In the second week of April, the Institute of Spa and Balneology welcomed a delegation from Institut du Thermalisme – Université de Bordeaux. This French institute has been active since 2000, and thanks to this personal meeting, we discovered how closely aligned our research topics and approaches are.

During the visit, we presented our institution and key activities, including the Centre for Spa Research project, which links natural healing resources with current scientific methods and contemporary issues in spa medicine. In return, our colleagues from the Institut du Thermalisme introduced us to their educational activities and the programs the institute is involved in.

We took the delegation on a tour of the spa zone – we visited the underground of the Vřídlo spring and concluded the walk with a guided tour of the Imperial Spa.

We are pleased that interest in our institute's activities is growing among the professional community abroad as well. We believe that this visit will also help establish professional contacts and future cooperation in a European context.
